Getting There

The Island of Madeira is only a few hours by plane from the main European capitals. Located in the extreme East of the island, the new Airport of Madeira receives daily scheduled flights from various international airline companies.

From the airport, the city of Funchal is just a 20-minute journey away. One can opt to take the “aerobus”, a local bus or a taxi. If one would prefer to hire a car, go to one of the rental companies on offer in the airport and make a reservation. The Madeira of today offers a modern network of roads with a variety of main roads and dual carriageways.

If one were to arrive by boat, one may embark alongside the natural bay of Funchal or in one of the numerous marinas that exist along the island.
